Principal
I have the immense privilege of leading my own school community that is not only deeply committed to academic excellence but also to the values that truly make a difference in the lives of children. At Moretown, we live by the guiding belief that when we bring More Joy, More Community, More Kindness into every day, we create a place where students thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Nestled in the heart of the Mad River Valley, our school is surrounded by nature and grounded in a strong sense of place. This connection to the outdoors is woven into our identity through our ECO (Educating Children Outdoors) program and partnership with North Branch Nature Center, which offers students the chance to learn and grow in the surrounding Moretown Town Forest. Whether it’s a math lesson under the canopy of trees or a writing prompt inspired by the sounds of the river, our curriculum is both innovative and rooted in real-world experiences.
Our small class sizes—ranging from 16 to 21 students in grades K-6—allow for meaningful relationships between students and staff. Our talented educators bring compassion, creativity, and dedication to their work every day. We are proud to offer a well-rounded educational experience that includes rich academic programming, social-emotional learning, the arts, and outdoor education.
Moretown Elementary is more than a school—it’s a community. A place where families, staff, and students come together to create a safe, vibrant, and inclusive environment. I am honored to be part of this special place and to work alongside a team that puts children at the center of all we do.
