The special meeting to focus on the GY2008 budget proposal was called to order at 6:09 p.m. by John Schmeltzer.

Lisa, John and John Pike briefly updated board members on an 11/29 meeting of all WWSU boards which focused on the transportation contract. The boards endorsed an offer from First Student to extend the current contract for at least one year at a 3.8% increase; a multi-year extension is being considered. Also, it was noted that under a new allocation formula agreed upon by the boards, Moretown’s percentage of transportation costs will decrease.

The board then spent the bulk of meeting reviewing the FY 2008 budget proposal, and discussing the FY 2009 worksheet. John and Roberta were very helpful in answering questions and clarifying issues. No major decisions were reached; no votes were taken.

On a motion by John, seconded by Amy, the meeting was adjourned at 7:57 p.m.
