Box Tops for Education -- Due October 23

If you've been collecting Box Tops for Education now's the time to drop them off!  Twice a year we have an opportunity to redeem the Box Tops and the fall redemption due date is coming up.  Last year Box Tops earned over $300.  The money goes directly to the Moretown PTN to support programs and activities for our children.  Drop off the Box Tops (trimmed ones are appreciated!) in the big pink collection box on the bench outside the Library

If clipping coupons is not your thing, Box Tops for Education has a couple of other ways you can support the school. Go to www.boxtops4education.com for more information. If you have any questions, contact Jennifer Tripp Mead,

MORETOWN YARD SALE

There will be a Moretown yard sale in the Town Hall on October 8th and 9th (the Sunday and Monday of Columbus Day weekend).  Call (see contact info below) to reserve a space and get rid of your stuff!  You must be present to sell your own stuff, but if you dont live on a main road, you cant beat the exposure and being in the Town Hall means the weather is not an issue.  All participants will share the cost of renting the space, the more people using it, the less the cost is!  Interested?  Call Sarah Nussbaum at 496-5677 for details.

Mad River Valley Soccer

Mad River Valley Soccer Association will be holding Tryouts for the Spring Travel League on Sunday, Sept. 23, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Mad River Park.  The tryouts will be for boys and girls in the U10 and U12 age groups (born between 8/1/95 and 7/31/99).  At the same time there will be sign-ups for boys and girls in the U8 age group (born between 8/1/99 and 7/31/01).  The U8 teams are coed, in the U10 and U12 age groups there are separate teams for boys and girls.

The Spring Travel League requires a serious commitment including travel to towns such as Essex, Williston and Milton.  U8 teams practice once per week, other age groups practice two times per week.  The older age groups (U12, U14 and U16) sometimes have two games per week.

Please bring a recent photo ( 1"x1"), and check made out to the Mad River Valley Soccer Association for $75. Please also bring your doctor and non-parental emergency contact phone numbers.  Those who have not played previously in the spring league need to bring a birth certificate.

If you are interested in playing, but cannot make the tryouts please send a letter of intent before the tryout date to:  Mike Vasseur, Mad River Soccer Association President, 395 Kew Vasseur Road, Fayston, Vt. 05673.
