Preschool

November 4, 2007

Dear Parents,

Parent-teacher conferences are just around the corner!  It’s hard to believe that November is here, and soon we will have a chance to sit and talk about your child’s transition to school.  Conferences will last approximately 20 minutes each.  Below is a list of dates/times that I will be available to meet.  Please call or stop by the school office (496-3742) to schedule your conference.  The sooner you call, the better your chance of scheduling a time that works for you.  In order to make the best of our 20 minutes together, it is best if children do not attend the conference.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

To complete our study of pumpkins we carved jack-o’-lanterns last Wednesday and lit them.  We also collected and roasted the seeds for our snack time.  Most children enjoyed them!

This coming week we will begin a discussion about wild animals and what they do to prepare for winter.  First we will discuss how we prepare for winter by getting winter jackets, hats, mittens and boots, some of us get wood for our stoves, etc.  But what do animals do to prepare for winter?  We will focus in on black bears and turkeys and read many stories about these wild animals; both fiction and non fiction, and complete several art projects around them.

I hope you enjoyed the weekend,

Pam
