Join us for one or more of the Family Center’s Parent Education courses & workshops.

We’ll share skills and insights that can help you and your family feel healthier and happier.

Growing With Your Baby / Presented by Deidre Hodgson of the FCWC
A 2-part workshop focusing on finding your baby's rhythm and developing routine. Addresses such issues as: feeding, sleeping, and developmental milestones.

Tuesdays - March 25 th & April 8th

6-8PM at the FCWC, Vermont College - Schulmaier Hall, Montpelier / (Free)

Parenting On Track / Presented by Vicki Hoefle of Shared Ventures

A series of 4 weekly live classes combined with 2 support tele-classes and a workbook. Focus is on respect and cooperative relationships between parents and children - from toddlers to teenagers.

Wednesdays - March 12,19, 26 & April 2

6:30-8:30PM at Barre City Elementary School, Barre / (Free)

1-2-3 Magic / Presented by Dawn Johnson of WCMH

A 2-part workshop, 1-2-3 Magic, uses lecture & video to address the difficult task of child discipline with humor, keen insight and proven experience. This time-tested program provides easy-to-follow steps for disciplining children ages 2-12 without yelling, arguing or spanking. Tuesdays - March 25 & April 1

6-8PM at Cabot School, Cabot / (Free)

Active Parenting / Presented by Ann Gilbert of the FCWC

A 6-week course for parents of 2-12 year olds. Will focus on: winning cooperation; responsibility and discipline; understanding and redirecting misbehavior; building courage, character, and self-esteem. Book included.

Tuesdays - April 1,8,15, 29 & May 6, 13

6:30-8:30PM at Thatcher Brook Elementary School, Waterbury / $35 Single/$50 Couple

Siblings Without Rivalry / Presented by Ann Gilbert of the FCWC

A 1-night introductory workshop for parents who want to help their children learn to live more peacefully with each other. This workshop challenges the idea that constant, unpleasant conflict is natural and unavoidable. Action-oriented, easy-to-understand anecdotes and stories show the many ways you can teach your children how to get along.
