School Board Members Present: Lisa Ransom (LR), Karen Horn (KH), John Schmeltzer (JS), Jay Pilliod (JP), Kaj Samsom (KS).

Others Present: Roberta Barone, Greg Wagner, Ingrid Nichols (Banwell Architects), Lee Dore, Rob Williams (Dore & Whittier).

Began with discussions and an interview with Ingrid Nichols of Banwell Architects. Several costs were added in discussions with Banwell under questioning from the Board. The questioning was geared at establishing an apples to apples cost and services comparison of the two bids received.

Met with Dore & Whittier, Lee Dore and Rob Williams. Similar questions were asked, specifically about the level of service provided during construction administration as well as the level of detail and importance of the plans.

Interviews concluded.

KS made a motion to authorize JS to sign a contract with the new Principal. Seconded by LR. Approved Unanimously

Discussion ensued regarding the Governor's message to School Boards. The Board agreed that we had adequately done our job of preparing a responsible budget. The Board has cut several positions already and contemplated cost savings options and are prepared to let the voters make their decision.

Discussion returned to the Architectural Bids. KS made a motion to retain D&W for Architectural Services related to the roof project, contingent upon a positive reference check result. Seconded by KH. Unanimously approved.

7:50pm JS made a motion to adjourn, seconded by JP. Approved by all
