School Board Members Present: Lisa Ransom (LR), Karen Horn (KH), John Schmeltzer (JS), Jay Pilliod (JP), Kaj Samsom (KS).

Others Present: Michelle Baker (MB), Roberta Barone (RB), Dick Moser (DB)

Motion made to approve 12.23.08 special meeting minutes and prior meeting minutes 12.02.08. LR made motion JP seconded, approved unanimously.

Board discussed architectural bids for roof project. MB discussed the receipt of bids and recommended meeting with each bidder. Discussion ensue. The Board plans to prepare some questions for each bidder to respond to when we meet. 1.27.09 6pm and 6:45. A special Meeting needs to be warned. JS made a motion seconded by KS, approved by all to have JP prepare the questions.

Extended discussion ensued regarding potential savings as well as potential unbudgeted costs. Capital maintenance required, the impact of roof project, potential impact of deer yard monies etc.. It was pointed out that large contributing factors to the 11.3%

LR made a motion to authorize the total expenditures for FY10 of 2,135,371, seconded by KS. Approved unanimously

Dick discussed the support staff negotiations, and the superintendent search and the WWSU Budget. The process of the Principal search was discussed for the 1/7/09 meeting.

A motion was made by KS to and seconded by JS to go into executive session. Approved by JS, LR, JP and KS. KH absent for the vote. Executive session entered at 9pm and exited at 9:24pm

Motion made and seconded to include an article for Town Meeting Day to allocate Deer Yard Monies to a Capital Reserve Fund. Approved unanimously.

Motion to approve Board Orders made by KS, seconded by LR. Approved by all.
